The new millennium has got off to a flying start for the team at Ballarat Truck Centre.
The last six months have been hectic with the acquisition of the Mercedes Benz/ Freightliner parts and service dealerships.
Mercedes Benz/Freightliner (DaimlerChrysler) is the worlds largest heavy truck manufacturer with 33% of the American truck market and over 65,000 trucks on back order - That's pretty incredible as the total Australian truck market is approximately 5000 - 6000 trucks and they have 65,000 in the States waiting to be built!
Recently DaimlerChrysler purchased Western Star and the Detroit Engine Company all in the same week. DaimlerChrysler is a serious player in the marketplace.The Alliance Parts (formerly PartsHQ) side of the DaimlerChrylsler provides us with a whole wide range of parts (for example: Fleetguard, Eaton, Rockwell, Narva, Hella, Spicer, Timken and Bendix) for all trucks and trailers.
It has been a hectic time for us our computer system is now linked to DaimlerChrylser so we can locate parts from around Australia, see who's got what and where instantly. With all new technology comes extensive training, our staff have been attending conferences and training schools to provide Ballarat Truck Centre with the expertise to service our customers in the 21st century.
Cummins - what another exciting challenge. We also obtained the Cummins dealership for parts and service in the Ballarat area. This again provides new and exciting opportunities for our customers and Ballarat Truck Centre.
We have Cummins factory trained technicians and laptop computers to plug directly into the trucks for diagnostic purposes and carry an ever increasing range of Genuine Cummins engine parts.
Our biggest growth has been in the Spare Parts with our stock level doubling and the additional Spare Parts staff and we forecast further growth in this side of Ballarat Truck Centre.
The last six months has certainly been hectic, we believe Ballarat Truck Centre is at the forefront of our industry, we have a workshop second to none in Ballarat combined with 15 dedicated staff, all trained and committed to customer service and the world's best franchises and dealerships.
All of this is due to our customers - we would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their loyalty, patience and continued business as they are our business.
As for the rest of the year the pace doesn't look like slowing, Ballarat Truck Centre have some more exciting things happening in both service and parts - stay tuned.
